Northwest Remedy User Group Meeting

  • This meeting was held at the Denali office in Bellevue.

  •  Been a product since 1999

  • Main goal is to reduce onsite support costs caused in part by having to support many applications.  Expertise is scattered, and difficult to broaden.

  • Product called eSupport can increase productivity by 30 – 70%.

  • Can help to overcome language barriers as an issue hindering productivity.

  • Security settings are configurable, and mainly control the amount of prompting the user must do – all user actions are logged on the server.

  • Supports Windows 98+, due to using JSP as the portal.

  • Uses a proprietary “chat” session to interact between the script/KB and the user.

  • Can use either internally or externally stored data, and can direct users to either.

  • Support process can be configured to allow Tier 1, 2, 3, etc. different access to the different tools and information.

  • Support personnel can work in the background while the user is working on something else.

  • SSL/https is fully supported for use through the firewall.

  • Scripts can be run against multiple clients simultaneously – can be useful for training or mass updates.

  • There is a plug-in for Remedy already built.

  • Health care privacy laws can be complied with by use of the logs.
