v This meeting was held at Herrick Douglass in Bellevue. v Presentation – Peregrine. Jean-Michel Bouillin presented the Peregrine product line. Ø Peregrine has about 4000 employees at about 100 locations worldwide. Ø 40,000 customers worldwide, and most of their products are unilaterally viewed as Best in Class by independent review groups like the Gartner group. All 3 product suites work independently or as a cohesive, comprehensive unit. § Infrastructure Management – Infratools · Desktop Discovery – like SMS, LANDesk, etc. ¨ Captures hardware and software configuration data about client and server assets, as well as changes to those. · IND – Network Discovery – like HP Openview, etc. ¨ Checks the characteristics and quality of the network and all of its components. Does complete discovery of the components, and assists with capacity planning and monitoring. ¨ Root cause analysis. · Remote Control product – for Help Desk techs. · Asset Center – Asset Management for the entire life cycle of the asset. The steps in Asset Management are: ¨ Asset Management – the core Asset application. ¨ Procurement Management – Manages the internal fulfullment process for any business asset. Issues P.O.s, does approvals, provides quotes, and receives and reconciles the assets. ¨ Leasing Management – Manages periodic contracts for leases, maintenance contracts, and insurance. ¨ Cost Management – Chargebacks, cost tracking by budget or cost centers by usage. ¨ Asset Center is better than Remedy Asset Management in these ways: Ø Better Purchasing support and functionality. Ø Tighter and more complete reporting. § Employee Relationship Management – CRM apps. Get-It is the main app. · Provides a single point of entry for all Employee requests. § B2B Relationship Management – web-based EDI transactions. Ø Service Center vs. Help Desk § Help Desk is more customizable, Service Center is more comprehensive. Ø Connect-It is the integration platform for the Peregrine applications: ServiceCenter, Asset Center, B2B, Remedy Help Desk, etc. § Integration is accomplished by transactions using the Remedy API to talk to the Peregrine applications. You choose which fields have data transferred to and from them. It will work with any Remedy product, whether purchased or home-built. § It integrates with LDAP servers and PeopleSoft, too. v
